blue & maroon

the old trucker:
Someone told me today that the narrow gauge was painted blue @ the factory & the wide gauge were painted maroon or dark red
when new. Can someone straighten me out on this?

hmm..i've seen wide gauge  painted yellow ,and blue..also red and maroon..as you stated....and i've only seen blue narrow gauge from factory......which means nothing..lol...
