Here are some pictures from the start of my rebuild. It is a little crowded in the garage. Since I took these I have removed all the doors and started stripping the wood out of the inside. I think I will have to take a trip to Valcort to see how the interior is supposed to look like. Do you know if there was always a strip of wood on the outside?

I think all of the bombers have the wood strip along the sides to stiffen them up a little. I've seen 57 bomber's rebuild with the wood off & it's pretty puckered without it, he had to put a piece of wood behind to help with the body work. I'm glad I could help you out by getting your rebuild started on here.

yes they all had oak side rails(stiffners)....rub rails.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a Bell Housing.
