Fuel comsumption

What kind of fuel milage should i expect on hard pack snow? I found this article that stated 'the vessel did 200 kilometers (about 125 US miles) for 150 - 200 litres of fuel (gasoline).'   That works out to 2.8 mpg to 3.5 mpg.  Seems kinda poor.

hmm..on a hard pack trail..wih the v8 i'd guess about 8-10 mpg...breaking trail..tough going...more like what you read.
