Are there any members or guests currently running a DIESEL ENGINE in their Bombardier?

Old Trucker, There was a posted picture of Saskatchewan Bombardier with a diesel. Would you know where?

Viking, I think that is her in "Trail Talk" under "09 rally video" posted by Swamp Dawg. Here is the link to it.

                               http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jPUshaxrkw

I think it's the one with the exhaust sticking through the hood. You will see the first glimpse of her @ the 2:05 min. mark and again @ 2:16 min mark. I think you will also find a pic of her in one of the rally posts. I thought someone said she is a diesel. I hope this is right.

Thanks OT, I did see some photos posted "somewhere" that suggested a 6.2 diesel. It was a summer shot in a yard with 2 or 3 'completes". One of the members though has responded with a location. I'll start there and see where it goes. Cheers, Viking

Rattleman, Thanks for the update from your end on the diesel engine choices. I wonder, is Marc a member of N.T., would like to talk to him if I could. This still seems to be the most reasonably commercial application regarding fuel economy and reliability on long trips.

Hey Rattleman, Right on about all the future info and pictures. I can help in posting anything you need. I also have the phone # of a Bombardier owner (Thanks Shorty) with the 6.2 G.M Diesel, can't get a hold of him just yet to get the scoop on how it works for him. . I have a Narrow Steel Body (Ford 300) that I want  to diesel up, would consider one of my wides with the right power to weight ratio. Thanks and we'll keep in touch, and Happy New Year!

A friend told me that a diesel engine from an old volkswagen caravelle (with the engine back) will fit perfectly in a wodden bomb. Mounts right up with the transmission. He don`t have a bomb, but a `40 dodge with the same chrysler motor as the bomb. But I don`t know if there are enough power in that engine...

Viking I was talking to him a couple of days ago. He put the 5.9 Cummings & automatic trans in it. A friend of mine here is interested in it. He wants to sell this one as he has another one to rebuild.
