Here is the email he sent to me.

Another project is underway. This one is a 1940 Bombardier B-7. It's in nice original condition with a re-paint about 20 years ago. It still has the original Ford flathead V-8 in it. Current plans are to pull out the engine and change all the gaskets, new wiring harness, check all the bearings and give it a try. Oldsledz

the old trucker:

I must say she looks pretty fine looking to me. I couldn't decide where to post this machine, so after talking to Oldsledz I thought to put it here. Here is part of his email I got this morning.

Well,  not sure where to place it.    It is wooden framed and plywood interior with an aluminum skin over it.  I don’t think it demands another classification on N.T. but it does have as much wood as a B-12.   I don’t yet know how far I will go with it.  It is in pretty  nice shape.  I’ll take the motor out and change all the gaskets, rebuild the carb,  new water pumps (2) new fuel pump, tune up ,  new wiring harness   etc  and just make sure all is reliable.  The odometer says 14,000 +- miles on it.  I  have the original registration and it was bought by a Taxi company in Rigaud, Quebec in 1940.  I have allot to learn about the machine and I have never owned a flat head V-8 so---again,  allot to learn before I tear into it.

I currently have 3 snowmobiles apart for restorartion—1961 ski-doo,  1963 ski-doo, and a 1962 Polaris so this may set for some time.  I just may wait until winter to run it in the snow to see exactly what it may need. I do have a few other pics that I will send over.

    Frank

I will post the other pics when I get them. She looks great ...

the old trucker:
Well he wasn't long sending these pics. They look great.

Here is a note that goes with the last pic.

The early machines had the raised patent stamp riveted onto the motor door.

Oldsledz is that a B12 parked behind the B7 when you look through the back window ?? I know it's not yours by looking at the mirror.

dpaulson:
They really are a neat machine, a nice size for cruising, and this one looks like it really good shape.  Good find.

the old trucker:

We'll have to keep Oldsledz & Dan Shaver separated or they will be drag racing....Ford versus  Chevy....They look about the same size. I know what I'm betting on.

                                                                    OT.
